Get Educated About Involvement

That time of the year has come: school is back in full swing!  With the opportunity for your kids to learn new and exciting things also comes an opportunity for you: the chance to get involved in your child’s school and its associated activities.  Parental involvement in a child’s educational endeavors is important for a few different reasons.  First, each parent who chooses to volunteer during the school day lessens the workload for the school as a whole.  There’s an old adage that rings true here: “Many hands make light work.”  With budget cuts and staffing shortages becoming more commonplace, the greater the need for volunteers.  Second, the parents who are most involved are often also those who are most aware of the school’s expectations.  The more you know about what your kids are learning, the more you can work with your child to ensure that they are offered all the resources that they need to succeed.   Last, and perhaps most important, children with involved parents also often achieve better grades, continue to higher levels of education, and exhibit better social skills than those children whose parents tend to take a less active role in their children’s school life.  It’s valuable to mention here, as well, that the importance of academic involvement isn’t limited to an age level.  Studies show that parental involvement often declines as children age and become more independent.  However, regardless of whether a child is freshly starting school as a Kindergartener, or is a Freshman in high school,  educational engagement holds equal importance.

We would also encourage non-parents to step into a volunteer role in their local school system.  Everyone has something of value to offer, and we are all made better when we work together.

Alongside parents and educators, another group of people who are passionate about the positive development, health, and success of our community's children are those who work with the Traverse Bay Children’s Advocacy Center.  Because we genuinely believe in their cause, we’ve taken up a  calling of our own:

We are on a mission this year to raise funds for the TRAVERSE Bay CHILDREN’S ADVOCACY CENTER!

The Traverse Bay Children’s Advocacy Center does wonderful work helping children and families who are living through the tragedy of abuse. That is why we decided to donate a portion of our income from selling homes to support their mission of helping the children in our region!

And this is where YOU come in:

YOUR REFERRALS HELP THE KIDS…

Whom do you know that’s considering buying or selling a home you could refer to my real estate sales team?

Not only will they benefit from our award-winning service, but we donate a portion of our income from every home sale to the Traverse Bay Children’s Advocacy Center.

We want to make it easy to refer your friends, neighbors, associates or family members considering making a move, so here are your options:

  1. You can go to www.reichardandhack.com/contact and enter their contact info in the space provided, or forward the link to whomever you know that’s considering a move.
  2. Of course, you can always call us directly, as well, at 231-492-0072.
